To use the default wine installation in RH 7.2 you must (as root) create the directory '/root/.wine'. Now you my run your programs as root by invoking 'wine [program name]' Alternatively, in your own home create '/home/[username]/.wine'. However as root, you must add [username] to the 'wine' group.
