wine newbie question

[Bulldog]

I got a sample .wine config file from the docs in an archive but when I
try to run wine, I get

[keddys at cr10197-b keddys]$ wine leaktest.exe wine: chdir to
/home/keddys/.wine/wineserver-cr10197-bFIXME:pthread_rwlock_rdlock
FIXME:pthread_rwlock_unlock
 : Not a directory

I've been trying different things for awhile, but hopefully you guys can
shed some light...

fyi: RH 7.2 system
cr10197-b is my internal hostname, leaktest.exe is a random exe i had
found on my windows partition...
