Well the problem is not unique to FoxPro. There is a bug report in 
bugzilla about this. Any application that requires record locks is going 
to be affected.

There was a mention in this thread of a patch being submitted to wine 
patches but I do not recall seeing it and cannot find one when I search 
though the archives.  I'm sure there are a lot of people that are 
interested in this problem and it's solution
