Which WINE for Vector Linux 3.2 SOHO?

Hi All,

The system being run has the above distro on it, but refuses to install
WINE, alleging the wrong version of GLIBC is installed.  I understand
from my friend whose machine it is that Vector is based on Debian 3.0,
although some packages from Slackware 8.1 will install also.

Could you please recommend a WINE distribution and/or a method to
upgrade glibc?  I believe the system currently has v2.2 despite efforts
to upgrade it to 2.3.
