I installed wine-20030813.tar.gz on redhat9 and it seems to work.

I tried to install quicken98.

autorun windows application box comes up 
"would you like to install the program on your hard disk"
yes
a setup box appears
"setup in preparing the install shield wizard.."
the bar goes to 100% and then nothing happens
quicken does not seem to be installed anywhere.

In the xterm is the following.

I also tried lotus wordpro which complained about not been able to write to the
registry
but does appear to be installed in c:/lotus
(and appears to be in the registry according to regedit)
but will not run.
I include this because the two may be related.

I guess I have a problem that is stopping me installing anything

are those permissions right for win.ini and system.ini ?
