It should help you to get programs working in wine, it has instructions on how
to start windows programs with wine using KDE, so you don't need to use a shell.
It's a always better to use rpms instead of source, if you don't have a good
reason to compile the source yourself, so you can be sure that wine was compiled
properly.
Do remember that wine is alpha software, this means it isn't finished, and most
windows programs don't yet work correctly with wine.
