AFAIK this error is normaly produced by prelinking. Do you have the prelink
program installed on your system?

You should first run the un-prelink command (see the manpage of prelink) to
revert back the changes made by prelink, before uninstalling prelink by
itself.

Prelink is run on Debian via cron, so just doing an un-prelink will only do
for testing if this helps.
