Use wine the most up-to-date source from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=6241&package_id=77449

untar to /usr/local/src directory
as regular user, cd to the root of wine source directory and run
./tools/wineinstall (it will ask for root password later).

After that, you should have wine installed and basically configured.

For more info have a look at:

http://www.winehq.org/site/docs/wine-user/config-wine-main

~From my experience, it seems better to compile yourself (I have used
Mandrake and Gentoo) rather than the distribution packages - later you
may encounter problems running some apps, which already ran for others.

It is also worth to read the basic docs on the above website so that you
know how it works.

| Thank you for your patience.

no problem.
