According to Macromedia's website, DW 2004 MX requires Windows 98 SE or
higher operating system. I only have Windows 98. Additionally, 2004 MX is
the first version that Macromedia requires to be "activated" before use.
This was not the case with the older MX version I have (I didn't realise
they were different versions until now). Maybe this activation process is
what's causing the trip-up? Are you getting stuck at installing the program
or running it?

Hi Brian
I'm using Studio MX (version 6.1) .. not 2004. I'm going to have a look at
your error messages again. I managed to get my Dreamweaver working after
some debugging messages helped me track down the problem.

I doubt it has something to do with a copy protection scheme since I can
install all the MX 2004 products on an XP machine when I copy the
install files
to my hard drive.
Angela Burrell, are you using MX or MX 2004?
cheers :)
Muita
