[Wine]Where's my .dll file?

I'm trying to run an automotive waveform database application called 
Aeswave using Wine. Install went OK.  When I start the app, it opens 
in a window, but I get an error box:
Error#:298
DDE requires ddeml.dll

I can find ddeml.dll in /usr/lib/wine (but it is a shared object: 
ddeml.dll.so) and it shows as a shortcut to user32.dll. I tried 
copying these .dll files to the app directory, but no help.

How do I get Aeswave to see/find this file? I'm pretty new to Linux 
& Wine, so maybe I'm just not there yet on my learning curve!!
