[Wine]installing finereader

Hi,
plear bear in mind that I'm completely new to wine.

I've read in the database that some people got FineReader 5.0
professional running under wine.
How do I install it from a CD?
I've tried to run 
wine /cdrom/install.exe 
which opens a full screen window but then hangs - the mouse operates
only on the window decoration.

I've used the cvs-version of wine.
