I had been the same problem with wine-0.9.12. After googling, i have 
installed fontforge and recompiled wine and it was all right. With 
Gentoo, fontforge is a dependance (probably temporarly) of wine.

But with rpm the situation isn't the same. maybe, try installing 
fontforge and wine from source ?
