I think the MS ODBC Drivers should be delivered with your software, or there 
should be a section in the readme how to install them.
If the ODBC drivers are free, I see no problem in using them native, 
especially if they were delivered with your software.

Filing an app report is a good idea even if it doesn't work ;-)
