well, I tried filling up my disk. Or at least, to fill up past the 3gb
it said I had free.

used this http://blog.spikesource.com/filesize_creation.htm

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=bigfile bs=1024 count=1048576

This will create a file of size 1024 * 1048576 bytes (or 1 GB). In this
command

Anyways, once I did that, it still wouldn't install, and my freespace
just kind of wrapped back around to where it was, 3gb free.

The program I can't get to work right now is photoshop. I tried CS2,
same problem, then switched back to PS7, no luck there either.

so instead of installing, I decided to just try and extract the data
manually, and see if I couldn't get it to run. I used a program called
unshield (http://synce.sourceforge.net/synce/unshield.php) to extract
the 3 cab's in the photoshop directory.

of course, photoshop wouldn't run after that, because it was missing
some DLLs, but they were in another folder (App_Shared), moved those
over, and the last DLL it couldn't find which was in the
Language_Independent_Intel_32_Files folder. After I did that, photoshop
would at least start up, but now I've got this bug where I can only
display one miniwindow at a time (color, history, etc). oh well, at
least it works.
