I've submitted gold results, yet to be accepted, I think.

Here is how I got it work:
1. remove/rename video directory
2. get the updated ddraw.dll: http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=downloads&ss=299&s=patch and install it to cossacks dir.
3. set the ddraw.dll to native,builtin with winecfg for dmcr.exe
