How did you uninstall? Wine's uninstall doesn't completely replace ~/.wine, which is what usually has to to be done. If you used uninstall, try deleting or renaming ~/.wine, then reinstall the program. A new ~/.wine will be created automatically.

You could also try upgrading to 1.1.2. If you do, reinstall your program afterwards.
