probably the unimplemented IoAllocateMdl in ntoskrnl.exe is the problem here. If you know how to hack into wine-code, you could try the implementation from here: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2007-December/048256.html and see if it gets your app any further. good luck!
