That fixed it. I had to reboot to get it to work. Even my barcode reader works! It's a C:Cat no less. Thanks for your quick response. BTW, I an using Unbuntu 8.4, the Hardy Heron and I got Wine from the Add/Remove application link. Perhaps they have an older version than they should.
