[Wine] Mouse Cursor drifts in some directx games

Hello,

I am currently attempting to run some windows games through wine, specifically Fable - The Lost Chapters and The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind and I am experiencing problems with my cursor drifting during game play.

When I start the game (as soon as the menu screen) the mouse is initially stable, but after I move the mouse it will begin to drift vertically down at a constant speed (somewhat slow). I have also noticed that when I click the mouse will sometimes stop moving until I move it again.

I am running Gentoo Linux (kernel 2.6.30-r4) and wine 1.1.24, but have also reverted to 1.1.17 (the gentoo version emerged from the stable tree) and experienced the same issue.

I am running Gnome 2.26.3, and xorg 1.6.3. My mouse is a synaptics touchpad handled through evdev and hal. I am also using an nvidia 8600 graphics card with the proprietary nvidia 180.60 drivers.

I do not experience this on all games, for example starcraft works just fine.

Terminal output:

emerge --info app-emulation/wine

Thank you for any help, if you need more information I will be glad to provide it.

PS:
I have tried switching between having the window manager manage windows, and directx control the mouse it had no affect.
