[Wine] Can I change from Development to Stable maintaining my apps?

I've instaled 1.2 (Development) on KUbuntu 9.10
I've instaled some Windows apps but I,ve some stability problems.
If I remove 1.2 and install the stable version mantaining my .wine directory sould my Windows programs work?
