Unfortunately, nothing here indicates what's wrong.  I get exactly the same console output from Firefox 3.5.6 in openSUSE 11.1 (32 bit), Wine 1.1.35, but it starts up just fine for me.  I suppose it could be a problem with 64 bit openSUSE, but no one else has reported it. 

I do see that you've done a lot of testing. Were all of these tests to a clean wineprefix (no overrides or other tweaks, nothing else installed)? If not, delete or rename ~/.wine and install Firefox 3.5.6 using the latest development release (1.1.35).
