[Wine] Audio in OpenSolaris 2009.06 x86

Hi All,

First time caller - tried WINE today for the very first time, on OpenSolaris no less.

Good news - was shocked and stunned how easy it was to get an old copy of Unreal up and running - everything (almost...) "just worked" with practically no configuration, got lovely smooth rendering using my crappy built-in Intel X3100 adaptor.

However, I cannot get any audio output whatsoever, and have reached a dead end. So far I've tried the IPS package linked from WineHQ download page (v1.01), ASwine (v1.20) over at sunfreepacks.com, and a custom build done by some community member (I forget the version). All three install and run Unreal with zippo probs, but all three fail to pick up audio drivers.

When running Winecfg, under the Audio tab, there is no list of available driver types (OSS etc). Pressing the "Test Sound" button gives me a "Audio Test Failed!" dialogue. No audio is present in Unreal.

I've successfully installed OSS in OpenSolaris (http://opensolaris.org/os/project/opensound/), OSSv4.0 is available via GNOME and audio output to every other app seems just fine. I kinda figured that if WINE supported OSS everything would be hunky-dory but I guess I'm missing something.

The Opensolaris Wiki page here simply makes reference to a manual build of ESound being required, but there is no information as to how to get there, and the info may be outdated for all I know.

Any pointers much appreciated!! :)
Dave
