thanks for your suggestions I ll try them out. What you are suggesting makes sense epsecially after looking the wine logs.   In the mean time it seems that the issue in xquartz is reponed. I think you could contribute your experience on the discussion there. The guys there are doing a fantastic job.
btw The ticket is renamed to GLX:wine doesn't play ball :-)
