[Wine] different version, different results?

I have some games (german version or budget-release), that always crash with a "page fault"-error. But according to the AppDB they should work fine (platinum or gold).
The demo-versions of these games always work.
What could this mean?
Some german or budget versions are compiled in a way, that they are not compatible with wine?
What could I do?
