Factors that can change daily/weekly. Look at the Team Fortress 2. Each update slows down that game (on Windows!) for many users.

People reporting that last update dropped performance by a good 1/3 on big variety of systems (from several years old to brand new top of the line configurations). And Valve confirmed it. Yet they still haven't done anything about it.

Any sort of list with game performance information will get absolute within less then a month for most titles. Which will even more add to the frustration. And I'm not even talking about differences in HW, SW, setup. Linux kernel itself changes fast and some versions do have issues with performance. Video drivers change fast and some changes again affecting the performance (not always in good ways). Distros putting their noses into something they shouldn't (ex pulseaudio) that breaks Wine with every their update.
