Most likely, only stable versions would be included in the repository coming with your distribution. The next stable version of wine will be wine 1.2, but it can still take a very long time before wine 1.2 comes out. At the moment it's probably better for you to install the "beta" version from the wine repository for Sid, since you have an application that doesn't work in 1.0.1. In most cases the "beta" version of wine is a better choice if you have an application that doesn't work in the most recent stable version.
