i just downloaded the viewer and ran it on 1.1.29 with all default settings, with the X11.app default Apple on 10.6 (which is a bit older than the 2.4 you installed) and it seems to run just fine.... even opened the samples it came with and looked at them. are you sure your Wine install is all correct and working ok?
