[Wine] Counter Strike 1.6 periodically fails to launch

I've just installed CS 1.6 standalone and frequently, it fails to launch. I am specifying the "-gl" argument (so it launches with OpenGL) -- I've also tried without to no avail.

Wine will give me a notification to say to launch the game in software mode (of which also doesn't work).

However, if I repeatedly re-launch, eventually it will work as normal.
