[Wine] Will WINE work with the an Acer netbook Linux version?

Hi all,

New here. 

Will WINE work with an Acer A110 netbook Linux version (first netbooks by Acer). Don't know yet which version is on this netbook but suggestions and help welcome. 

I checked the list of Linux versions on this site but names don't read familiar with what I have installed on the netbook. 

Anyone experience with it?
