suggestions not answers
- Maybe start another thread titled "Is Activeds.dll supported" see if someone can answer that first. 
- If you can create a small test vb6 app yourself that just gets the domain of the computer (nothing else) and displays it in a window/msgbox. Test it on a real win box to confirm does as you expect and then maybe post the code on another thread specific to ActiveDS  as current thread title is fairly generic.
