[Wine] How to determine what to do get an app up and running?

Hi there.

I'm new to wine and want to get an application up and running that is not in the app db. What should I do to test this application and try to get it up and running. The installation of this application is perfecly done with playonlinux but if I try to start it it says there is not enought memmory to run. What sould I do to find the error?
