Your distro has loads of IM programs that can work with yahoo servers. Use them instead. YM doesn't work all that well on Wine: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=29

Starts fine here, given some text is missing. Try newest Wine and clean/new wineprefix. Alll I did extra is installed mfc42 with winetricks. Not sure if it's required to run application.
