Compile it, set --prefix parameter for configure script to install it
somewhere unusual...

You might want to check if Teamviewer / Picasa have the relevant
source code (and possibly packaging scripts) available...

There is tools to view other processes' environments... (pargs -e
under Solaris, not sure about Linux)
