1.1.44 was just released today... you can build it from scratch, or wait until however your using Wine updates to that...

I always have every version of Wine available, some programs just run better in certain older versions... no reason to stick to just 1 version.

are you using a source install?  Macports?  Crossover?  Wineskin?  Winebottler? Macindows?
