[Wine] intel drivers

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 , i got tired of windows crashing and installed FC 12 on it (stand alone ).

Im having problems running some of the simple games like Zeus and Pharoah ( they just crash) and ive read somewhere that Wine doesnt support intel drivers ? 

Even simple games like the ones above wont run ( need an Nvidia/ATI card ? ). Also tried Knight Online without success on different version of wine ( 1.0.1-x , 1.1.28,29,38,39,44 ). Software dont seem to have a problem running though.

The graphics card is an Intel Mobile Series 4 Chipset.

These games are quite simple/old and if even they dont run then im afraid i have to switch back to windows which i just dont want to. Is linux such a bad platform for gaming ? or should i have bought a laptop with a respected graphics manufacturer :( ?
