I also tried to update wine. I'm now using wine-1.3.6 (Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS), but the error is still there. Additionally, the file dialog and the crash dialog became now (with wine-1.3.6) horrible look (messages are not put on white background - window is gray - and the message also have line crossing them). :(
