This sounds eerily similar to a (now resolved) issue I reported for Painkiller/Painkiller Black Edition (Windows game). Similarly, the CD-key validation window must be confirmed/submitted via the Enter key, but it was not recognized. See closed bug 21295 (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21295) for details.

If your problem is caused by the same issue, the solution is to either upgrade Wine to 1.3.4 (where the bug was fixed) or above (current beta version is 1.3.5) or downgrade Wine to version 1.1.28 or lower (before the bug appeared).

Unfortunately, I do not use a Mac, so I can't say whether upgrading to a newer version is possible, therefore the downgrade option is also mentioned.

Doing so would at least confirm that your issue is caused by the same bug: if upgrading or downgrading does not resolve, then I would suggest submitting a new bug.
