[Wine] New Vegas + Wine

Ok, So I had wine 1.3.5 yesterday by doing this in terminal

sudo apt-get install wine1.3

now, wine 1.3.6 was released, how do I upgrade or get it? I have tried completely removing wine, then going back and doing

sudo apt-get install wine1.3

Is there a way to tell my wine version, because if I am at 1.3.6 New Vegas still says 'failed to enable gamebyro renderer'

any help appreciated
