I got this working finally!

But basically it involved setting the following in the registry for Wine:
[Software\\Wine\\Alsa Driver]
“AutoScanCards”=”N”
“DeviceCount”=”13
“DeviceCTL13=”default”
“DevicePCM13=”default”
“UseDirectHW”=”N”
