Why?  Vitamin, dimensio and several other people have suggested just deleting $HOME/.wine.  This is Wine's default 'fake' Windows directory structure.  Running any Windows program will rebuild it.  Reinstalling Ubuntu will not help resolve the problems with MSDE2000a not installing properly.
