The series focuses on griffins, a dysfunctional family composed of  Ghost Whisperer DVD  (http://www.dvdtopshops.com/en/thrillers-crime-mystery-/ghost-whisperer-seasons-1-5-dvd-boxset.html) parents, Peter and Lois, their children, Meg, Chris and Stewie, Brian and their anthropomorphic dog. The story is set in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island, and bases much of its humor in American pop culture parodies.MacFarlane, after the family was conceived by the development of two animated films, life, Larry and Larry and Steve. MacFarlane reviewed the protagonist of the film  The Vampire Diaries DVD  (http://www.dvdtopshops.com/en/tv-series-dvd-boxset/the-vampire-diaries-season-1-dvd-boxset.html), Larry and his dog Steve, Peter and Brian and name them accordingly.
