[Wine] Wintermute Spriteedit crashes

Hi there,

I joined a project which uses wintermute and I have to use it for them.
The problem is I can't actually start because I can't create or edit sprites.
The Spriteeditor doesn't load any images, it just crashes:
http://pastebin.com/QZJy9eEb
I don't have much of an idea why, the image (tryed multiple formats) is in my home directory (no spaces or other strange chars) so it should be able to access it.
I also tryed it on two machines, both running current wine under gentoo with the most recent stable kernel (2.6.36).
Wintermute-Appdb: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7145
Free-Download: http://dead-code.org/home/index.php/download/ (~15 MB)

To reproduce it:
install it (in a clean wineprefix, even when it also happens in my usual not-so-clean)
launch SpriteEdit.exe
create a project (you shouldn't need a working project-directory)
import any image from your machine --> crash

AppDB say's it should work, but in 2007, do I need to downgrade to 0.9.45?? I hope not :P

Please help me :).
Thanks
