[Wine] wine 1.3.12 - alsa not showing in winecfg > audio

I'm running debian 6 on x86_64
installed 1.3.12 using the .debs from http://dev.carbon-project.org/debian/wine-unstable/ 

when I head to the audio tab in winecfg, i see plenty of modules EXCEPT for alsa. After thinking i lost my mind, i uninstalled wine1.3, and then re-installed. I wanted to make sure i didn't force the installer (as if a person can overlook the complaints). Yes, libwine-alsa-unstable did install. It still does not show in the list though.

Any ideas?
