Gecko and Chrome have nothing to do with each other.

But to the larger question of why work on fixing bugs in the
windows versions of apps that are also available for Linux:
sometimes it's worth it.  For instance, 
if they're open source and have unit test suites,
or if the bug reports are really good and free trials are available.
