Tried the GLSL-disable thing, and it didn't make any noticeable difference. I increased all the video settings to as high as they would go, and my FPS didn't go down or go up. The thing that did make a difference was disabling sound. The game was noticeably more responsive and my FPS was a bit higher after that.
