Took out native dsound. Ensured HW acceleration is set to full. Tried again. Still "cold mic" and error on startup. Paste of data dump here.  (http://pastebin.com/hAKCNrXd)

Not sure what you mean by "strange ALSA configuration," but I can't seen anything wrong with what I'm using right now. If you want a screenshot, I can give you one.
