[Wine] civilization 4 white graphics

hey guys i installed civilization 4 complete on ubuntu 10.04 running wine 1.2.2 

after a few tweaks i got the game to run, but when i start up an actual game and try to play i the landscape in game turns pitch white and i am unable to see anything.

also when i run the game it is in like a smaller window than wine, proximately 1/4 the size of the wine window which is full screen. when running world of warcraft (which i got to run better than in windows) i can get a full screen mode 

any advice or help would be grateful!
