I don't know how you installed IE8, but you wouldn't have all those mshtml, ieframe, and urlmon fixmes if it were done correctly; winetricks sets overrides for all those, and many other dlls.

Try reinstalling your app to a clean wineprefix, and use winetricks to install IE7 (it's more functional in Wine than IE8).
