Hi and sorry, but I'm not really using Ubuntu for such a long time. I tried  chmod o+rx /bin/ping so basically ping looks like this right now:

-rwx--xr-x 1 root root 35712 2011-05-03 13:43 /bin/ping

but that didn't really do anything. As for set_cap.. well,I saw it somewhere, but a quick search gave me this..
