I promise this is it unless I get my program working. Just FYI: I believe I would need a licensed version of Windows to use VM Ware, correct? If so, that's not an option because I wiped XP right off my computer intentionally after a few months of using Ubuntu in various forms (live CD, Wubi). I did not have enough room for both (older Compaq 40GB hard drive) and Windows was really annoying and boring me (ironic that it could do both). Anyway, just wanted to make that clear - this Canon issue is not a big deal just a project/challenge. Everything else I have works (DVD, cd, external HD which I formatted to ext 3, mp3 players (all four of them, except the one that just died bc of a known Creative issue), printers/scanner even the Canon), firewire and I've used Open Office for about a year anyway so all my docs are good. This photo printing thing is the absolute only thing that I can't "fix" with my current setup. I knew this going in and went straight Ubuntu anyway. That is how much I love the penguin OS! Seriously:)
